New Haven Intermodal Terminal

Buchanan Marine’s Shipyard in New Haven, Connecticut has been dedicated to maintaining and expanding its fleet since 1993. In addition to eight berths for above waterline repairs, two marine railways and a rail transfer system allow Buchanan to haul up to five 2,000 ton barges at one time. A separate platform launching system provides a dedicated new construction area for smaller barges. An onsite machine shop with press brake and shear lets Buchanan fabricate any necessary parts.

Every year Buchanan constructs many new barges ranging in size from 30’ x 90’ x 6’ to 44’ x 150’ x 12’. Each vessel is built to meet our exacting standards for use in hauling heavy construction materials. We have built numerous barges to be utilized by other companies for various heavy use purposes.
